‘Mother India’ Star Sajid Khan Died of Cancer At The Age Of 70

Sajid Khan, who appeared in films such as ‘Mother India,’ ‘Maya,’ and ‘The Singing Filipina,’ has died. The actor was fighting cancer at the time. Sajid passed away on December 22nd, at the age of 70, but this information was received today. Sajid Khan was laid to rest in the Kayamkulam Town Juma Masjid in Kerala’s Alappuzha district. Sameer Khan, Sajid Khan’s only son, told PTI, “He had been battling cancer for some time.” He passed away on Friday, December 22nd.

Sameer informed him that his father had relocated to Kerala with his second wife. ‘My father was adopted by Rajkumar Pitambar Rana and Sunita Pitambar and reared by director Mehboob Khan,’ he explained. He was largely involved in social service and was not active in filmmaking for a long period. He used to visit Kerala frequently and enjoyed it so much that he remarried and relocated here.

Sajid appeared on an American television show.

Sajid Khan gained to fame as a young heartthrob in ‘Maya,’ where he portrayed the part of Raj ji, a local boy. Because of the film’s success, a television series of the same name was created, which boosted Khan’s stardom. He was also a guest judge on the music show ‘It’s Happening’ and featured as a guest on an episode of the American TV show ‘The Big Valley’.

In ‘Heat and Dust,’ the actor played a dacoit.

The actor rose to prominence in the Philippines after collaborating with Nora Aunor on films such as “The Singing Filipina,” “My Funny Girl,” and “The Prince and I.” Khan also appeared in the Merchant-Ivory production ‘Heat and Dust’ as a dacoit.
