The Motorola Edge Plus (2023) might have been the best flagship phone Motorola released in years. Whether its successor will surpass it remains to be seen until we have it in our hands. But for now, a new leak has given us a good look at the upcoming phone’s design and provided a few new details.
The folks at Android Headlines have obtained renders of what’s believed to be the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. In the US, this phone will likely be called the Motorola Edge Plus (2024), while in China, it will be known as the Motorola X50 Ultra.
Based on the renders, it appears the line will undergo a minor refresh. The back of the device now curves up into the camera bump, creating a more seamless look than the previous model. Additionally, there are new colors available, including matte black, matte purple, and an interesting off-white.
Despite a few design changes, Motorola seems to be sticking with the curved display, a decision that contrasts with the recent trend back to flat panels. But Yeah!! Display measures can be 6.7 inches with an 120Hz refresh rate.
Motorola Edge Plus (2024) Features
According to the outlet, the Edge Plus (2024) runs on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with 12GB of RAM. Moreover it will have a 4,500mAh battery with both wired and wireless charging at 125W and 50W. Compared to the Edge Plus (2023) with its 5,100mAh battery, this would be an unfortunate downgrade.
In terms of cameras, we’re getting a triple shooter setup:-
- a 50MP main sensor with an aperture of f/1.4,
- a wide-angle at 13mm, and
- a telephoto at 73mm.
An interesting detail in the featured image is that the screen displays the date April 3. Moto has already shared its teaser of the Motorola X50 Ultra in China. Perhaps this could be the date the company plans to debut the phone, but that’s just speculation.
