According to reports, this chip has been redesigned to improve its performance in artificial intelligence activities including email summarization, text production, and image rendering.

According to the agency, the AI capabilities will also be implemented into Qualcomm’s smartphone processors, as both Alphabet’s Google and Meta declared their ambitions to use these breakthroughs on Tuesday.

According to a recent Reuters article, Microsoft has encouraged Qualcomm, Nvidia, and Advanced Micro Devices to produce new CPUs capable of supporting a variety of revolutionary AI capabilities in Windows, the world’s most popular PC operating system.

During a video presentation at Qualcomm’s event, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella stated that these processors will pave the way for the birth of a new age of “AI PCs” designed for both business and consumer use.

Nadella emphasized that their combined efforts will bring together hitherto impossible experiences owing to the requirement for a revolutionary system design.

According to reports, Qualcomm’s X Elite processor outperforms Apple’s M2 Max chip in some workloads and has higher energy efficiency when compared to both Apple and Intel PC CPUs. The chip’s capacity to successfully compute artificial intelligence models with 13 billion parameters stands out as the most crucial aspect, as highlighted by Qualcomm Senior Vice President Alex Katouzian. This parameter count can be used as a proxy statistic to estimate the competence of AI systems that generate text or graphics.

According to Francis Sideco, an analyst at TIRIAS Research, the advent of AI-powered image production by businesses such as Adobe, encompassing applications ranging from real estate brochures to beer can labels, would fuel an increase in demand for laptops with AI capabilities.

“These devices are used by a lot of smaller businesses and individual designers and creators.” “They require that level of capability,” Sideco explained.
