Tiger 3, Salman Khan’s much-anticipated Diwali film, is set to premiere on Sunday. The film is the first high-budget picture to be released on Diwali, and early bookings indicate that it will light up theaters in style. According to Sacnilk.com, the film has already earned 15.58 crore on its first day. The film appears to be a welcome relief following the underwhelming result of Salman’s Eid release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.
More than 5,86,650 tickets for the film have been sold. There are 5,49,988 tickets for the Hindi 2D version and 21,049 for the Telugu 2D version. The Tamil performances, on the other hand, have sold 3098 seats. The film’s IMAX 2D version is similarly popular, with 9554 tickets sold on day one.
Katrina Kaif reprises her role as Zoya in Tiger 3, and Emraan Hashmi enters the cast as the franchise’s main adversary. Hrithik Roshan, who played Kabir in War, and Shah Rukh Khan, who played Pathaan, are reported to make cameo appearances in the film.
Tiger 3 is estimated to gross 40 crore
Tiger 3 is likely to make close to 40 crore on Diwali, according to Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Executive Director of PVR INOX Ltd. “The advances are phenomenal,” he told PTI. As far as the Diwali release is concerned, everything is on track. Diwali has traditionally been a very important and highly wanted occasion for producers to premiere their films. For decades, large films have been produced around Diwali, and nearly all of them do well since it is a time when people are out and about, with disposable cash to occupy themselves.”
Tiger 3’s release on Diwali also coincides with India’s World Cup match against the Netherlands. “Audiences find their own time; if they don’t come on Sunday, they come on Monday or Tuesday, both of which are holidays.” Keeping all of these in mind, I believe the industry expects this film to gross 40 crore, which is a big sum,” he added.
