In a move that’s turning heads in the streaming world, JioHotstar has brought on seasoned media and marketing pro Shyam Tallamraju as its Vice President – Fan Loyalty & Live Experiences. And he’s already hit the ground running—quite literally—with two major non-sporting live events under his belt in just a few weeks.
Bringing Fans Closer Than Ever
Tallamraju made the big news official on LinkedIn, saying, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Vice President – Fan Loyalty & Live Experiences at JioHotstar! In less than 2 months, I led a fantastic team on two large non-sporting live experiences on JioHotstar – Mahashivratri and Ram Navami with Amitabh Bachchan.”
He added, “It’s always Day One at Jiostar and I feel like I am just getting started.”
That “Day One” energy seems real—because in a short span, he’s already playing a key role in shaping the platform’s push beyond sports, toward bigger, broader, more immersive content experiences.
A Solid Track Record Across Big Names
If his name sounds familiar, that’s because Shyam’s been around. He co-founded Hi Hello, and before that, held leadership roles at some seriously well-known names—Gupshup, OZiva, BookMyShow, Radio Mirchi, TO THE NEW, Star TV, and Tangerine Digital.
His journey in media started way back in 2001 at Radio Mirchi, where he began as Group Manager in Sales & Marketing. Since then, he’s carved out a strong reputation in everything from marketing and media strategy to social media and live engagement.
Oh, and did we mention he’s got a PGDM in Marketing from IIM Bangalore? So yeah, the guy knows his stuff.

What This Means for JioHotstar
With Shyam now steering fan loyalty and live experiences, it’s clear that JioHotstar is doubling down on live, interactive, and culturally resonant events. Think less passive viewing, and more big moments that pull people in and make them feel part of something.
His background in both tech and storytelling is expected to help shape the platform’s next wave of non-sporting content—the kind that keeps viewers coming back not just for the shows, but for the shared experiences.
