Kangana Ranaut’s much-anticipated aerial action thriller Tejas garnered a lackluster reception at the box office on its first day. According to early estimates published by Sacnilk.com, the film earned Rs.1.25 crore on its first day of release. According to the portal, the picture had only 6.83 percent occupancy on Friday.
Tejas story and characters
Tejas is based on the incredible journey of Tejas Gill, an Air Force pilot, and seeks to inspire and build a profound feeling of pride in every Indian by demonstrating how Indian Air Force pilots strive hard to defend our nation while facing multiple obstacles. In the film, she undertakes on a mission to rescue captives from terrorists.
Sarvesh Mewara wrote and directed the film, while Ronnie Screwvala produced it. Anshul Chauhan, Varun Mitra, Vishak Nair, Ashish Vidyarthi, Kashyap Shangari, Sunit Tandon, Rio Kapadia, Mohan Agashe, and Mushtaq Kak also appear in the film. There are several good songs in the film, including Dil Hai Ranjhana and Jaan Da.
Kangana utilized the film’s iconic line “Chhedoge to chhodenge nahi” (If you mess with us, we won’t spare you) throughout the film’s advertising. An online fan earlier submitted a video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi repeating a similar sentence during one of his talks and begged Tejas director to give the PM credit for it. Kangana responded to the tweet with, “Ha ha credit to definitely banta hai (he does deserve the credit).”
Critics have given Tejas mixed to good reviews. “Tejas is a film that soars when it comes to action but painfully crashes when it attempts to navigate complex geopolitics,” according to an excerpt from the Hindustan Times review. Kangana Ranaut is earnest as a lady airforce pilot, occasionally having to prove her place in the Air Force or in society as a free-thinking independent, and brave woman, flanked perfectly both literally and metaphorically by Anshul Chauhan, who complements Tejas’ courage and impulsiveness with guile, patience, and a bit of filmy drama.”
