Story :

Farhana (Aishwarya Rajesh), a devout Muslim woman, gets a job to help support her family. She starts working at a contact center and quickly moves to another department, where she forms an emotional relationship with an anonymous caller and finally discloses her actual identity to him. She is excited to meet him in person. What occurred after that? Did Farhana run into him? Did she have any issues? What is the identity of the strange caller, and what are his intentions? Is Farhana secure? All of these questions are answered in the film.

Plus Points :

Aishwarya Rajesh has appeared in five films in the last five months, one of which is Farhana. She gives the best performance as Farhana, a responsible wife and devoted mother, in this film.

It’s difficult to imagine another actress playing the character as well as she did. Women may readily identify with this character.

Selvaraghavan, an actor and director, performed a fantastic job. By hiding his face during the second hour, the filmmaker keeps the audience guessing. Although he just spends a little amount of time on screen, his dialogue has an impact.

Thanks to the conversation between authors Manushyaputhiran, Nelson Venkatesan, and Shankar Dass, some of the exchanges are thought-provoking. Kitty, Jithan Ramesh, and others defended their assigned responsibilities.

Minus Points :

Although the story is solid, Nelson Venkatesan, Sankar Dass, and Ranjith Ravindran’s script might have been considerably more entertaining if it had been written in a more engaging manner, especially in the first half.

Due to the extra latency generated, several of the scenes are boring. The identical problem may be seen in a couple of moments in the second half. The movie would have been an exciting thriller if the events were lewd.

The climax section needed to have been handled more carefully by the filmmaker. It would be interesting to see how Farhana dealt with the man who made her feel uneasy, but that aspect hasn’t been well-represented. One would undoubtedly anticipate a stronger climax and a strong message only to discover that these elements had been handled inadequately. Additionally, a tighter running time would have greatly benefited the film.

Technical Aspects :

The filmmaker does a good job of explaining the concept, but the outcome of the movie would have been far better if he had focused more on developing an even more compelling screenplay.

The mood is intensified by Justin Prabhakaran’s soundtrack, which makes the situation more intense. He deserves praise for the excellent effort he has done. Gokul Benoy does a good job in his role as DOP, however, VJ Sabu Joseph could have cut out several moments from the first and second portions.

You can see the high-quality production values on the huge screen. Aishwarya Rajesh and Selvaraghavan’s Telugu dubbing sounds nice.

Verdict :

Overall, Farhana is a respectable thriller with a realistic tone. The movie’s merits are Aishwarya Rajesh’s character and performance. You can see this movie this weekend even if both halves contain a few extraneous sequences.
