After Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle injury while delivering his first over in the contest, Virat Kohli was forced to pitch in with the ball. Kohli bowled three deliveries for two runs.

Virat Kohli last bowled in a World Cup match in 2015. He was bowling an over against Australia in Sydney when his arm was called over by then-captain MS Dhoni.

On Thursday, Virat Kohli bowled three deliveries at about 105 kmph with remarkable control. He gave up two runs in his over, as Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das both singled.
