In the Western Sector, India and China held their 17th round of Corps Commander Level Meetings on December 20 at the Chushul-Moldo border crossing point on the Chinese side.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the two sides have agreed to maintain security and stability in the Western Sector.

According to the MEA statement, the two sides agreed to keep in close contact and maintain dialogue through military and diplomatic channels to resolve the remaining issues as soon as possible.

As a follow-up to their last meeting on 17th July 2022, the two sides exchanged views on the resolution of the relevant issues along the LAC in the Western Sector in an open and constructive manner.

As a result of the frank and in-depth discussion between the two sides, in accordance with the guidance provided by the State Leaders, the remaining issues will be resolved as soon as possible, thereby restoring peace and tranquility along the LAC in the Western Sector and enabling bilateral relations to progress.

On December 9, PLA troops tried to unilaterally change the status quo in the Yangtse area of the Tawang sector, resulting in the 17th round of the Corps Commander Level Meeting.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh informed both Houses of Parliament that Indian troops resisted the Chinese attempt in a firm and resolute manner.

After a physical scuffle, the Indian Army bravely prevented the PLA from entering our territory and compelled them to leave.
