The government has announced that the self-declaration forms for Covid vaccination that incoming international passengers had to fill out on the Air Suvidha portal will no longer be required. The decision will take effect at midnight.

“In light of sustained declining COVID-19 trajectory and significant advances being made in COVID-19 vaccination coverage both globally and in India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has issued revised ‘Guidelines for International Arrivals,” said a notice from the Civil Aviation Ministry this evening.

According to the aviation ministry, the submission of self-declaration forms on the online Air Suvidha portal has been halted due to changed health ministry requirements. It did, however, include a statutory warning that the rule could be reviewed if necessary in light of the Covid situation.

For incoming international passengers, the form on the aviation ministry’s Air Suvidha portal was required. Passengers were required to report their vaccination status, including the number of doses received and the dates received.

This was consistent with the rules in most countries.

The ministry, on the other hand, stated that it was preferable that the travelers be completely vaccinated. It was also recommended that all cautious precautions for Covid. Such as mask wearing and social separation at airports, be maintained.

The aviation ministry announced last week that while masks are no longer required for plane travel, travellers should use them to avoid another coronavirus outbreak.

Until then, wearing a mask on flight was required.

According to the ministry, the decision was made in accordance. With the government’s strategy of a tiered approach to Covid-19 management.

Covid statistics have been declining in recent weeks. According to official figures released this morning, active cases (6,402) currently account for 0.01 percent of total illnesses. The national recovery rate is now at 98.8 percent.
