On December 12, iQOO will introduce its forthcoming flagship phone, the iQOO 12. The next phone will be the country’s first to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
Nipun Marya, the CEO of iQOO India, recently revealed the launch date in a post on X (previously Twitter). The iQOO 12 poster also features a BMW emblem in the upper right corner, implying that iQOO will continue to collaborate with BMW M Motorsport.
The forthcoming smartphone, according to GSMArena, would include a specialized display processor that supports hardware-based ray tracing, allowing game developers to achieve realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections. Using frame rate interpolation, it appears that iQOO 12 will be able to run popular titles such as PUBG, Genshin Impact, LoL Mobile, and others at 144fps.
Earlier this year, famed leaker Digital Chat Station revealed on Weibo that the corporation will use a QHD E7 OLED panel with a refresh rate of 144Hz. According to the report, the phone would include a metal frame, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader, and 200W fast charging. According to certain sources, iQOO may limit the charging speed to 120W and instead use a 6000mAh battery.
The iQOO 12 may include a triple camera arrangement on the rear that includes a 50MP Omnivision camera with OIS, a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 ultrawide sensor, and a 64MP telephoto lens. However, the corporation may forego a periscope lens. It is planned to run FunTouch OS 14 out of the box, which is based on Android 14.
The iQOO 12 will be released in China with the iQOO 12 Pro on November 7, so we’ll have to wait a few more days to discover what the company’s forthcoming flagship has to offer. However, the Pro variant is unlikely to be available in India.
