The second day’s revenue for Aamir Khan’s “Lal Singh Chaddha” has decreased. The movie Laal Singh Chaddha, which opened in theatres with Akshay Kumar’s “Raksha Bandhan,” only made Rs 12 crore on its first day. However,Lal Singh Chaddha is earning well in Tamil & Telugu — Why? Below mentioned key points will help you know the same.
A Delhi-based attorney(lawyer) filed a complaint with Delhi Police commissioner Sanjay Arora on Friday accusing Aamir Khan, Paramount Pictures, and other individuals of “disrespecting the Indian Army and harming Hindu emotions” in Lal Singh Chadha.
The Reason for the Boycott
The boycott started as the movie has a plot affecting Indians sentiments. It shows “a mentally handicapped person joining the armed forces and participating in the Kargil War”. It is a well-known fact that “the best army personnel were sent to fight in the Kargil war. Only the well-trained army personnel fought in the war. However, the movie makers purposefully portrayed the said situation to demoralise and discredit the Indian army.”
The Impact of Boycott
The company’s second day’s results have been impacted greatly by the ongoing boycott movement on social media. However, it is believed that Naga Chaitanya’s presence made “Lal Singh Chaddha’s” work in the South. But Aamir Khan’s plan also fell short. It appears that “Lal Singh Chaddha” is a failure not just in Hindi but even in the South.
What was Aamir Khan’s tactic ?
Aamir Khan had really solicited the help of South actors for “Lal Singh Chaddha” after observing the South’s current supremacy all over the country. Prior to the movie’s theatrical release, the actor had previewed the Telugu version for the South’s top stars. SS Rajamouli, Chiranjeevi, and Naga Arjun gave the actor recommendations on how to improve the movie, in addition to what was already mentioned.
However, Lal Singh Chaddha’s was unable to cross even with the South stars. Tamil and Telugu versions of the movie also performed poorly at the box office. Yes, on the one hand, Lal Singh Chaddha made Rs 0.1 crore in business on his first day in the South. However, Aamir Khan’s movie barely coped up to collect Rs 0.04 crore on Friday.
