Maruti Jimny 5-Door Bookings Are Evenly Split Between Manual And Automatic

Maruti has already constructed 1,000 Jimnys, with deliveries set to begin in mid-June.

On June 7, Maruti Suzuki will reveal pricing for the much-anticipated Jimny. The Jimny is Maruti Suzuki’s fourth new SUV introduced in the Indian market in a year, aimed at consumers searching for a lifestyle SUV.

At the 2023 Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki India unveiled the much-anticipated Jimny 5-door SUV and Fronx. Both cars drew a lot of interest during the Expo, and bookings for Jimny and Fronx were opened on the same day. Today, the business revealed to TOI Auto that it had gotten 6,500 orders for Fronx and around 18,000 bookings for Jimny 5-door. The booking fee for the Jimny 5 door is Rs 25,000, while the fee for the Fronx door is Rs 11,000.

The upcoming introduction of India’s leading automaker Jimny has sparked a lot of interest. The Jimny will be built on a ladder frame chassis and include Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4×4 technology. It will be driven by Maruti Suzuki’s 1.5-litre K15B smart hybrid petrol engine, which is well-known for its high fuel efficiency. The engine will be mated with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter, and it will produce 105 horsepower and 134.2 Newton meters of torque.

The Jimny is 3,985mm long, 1,645mm wide, and 1,720mm tall, with a 2,590mm wheelbase, giving it a more intimidating image on the road. The 5-door Jimny will be available in nine colors, including seven monotone options like Nexa Blue, Bluish Black, Sizzling Red, Granite Grey, and Pearl Arctic White, in addition to two dual-tone options like Kinetic Yellow with a Bluish Black roof.

Six airbags, dark green glass, LED headlights, an electronic ORVM, steering-mounted controls, a headlamp washer, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, and an Arkamys sound system will be standard on the Jimny. The instrument panel in the cockpit will have spherical analog dials and a MID. The smaller dashboard will improve front visibility.
