MediaTek has officially launched the Dimensity 9600 Pro, its latest flagship smartphone processor built on a 2nm process. The new chipset focuses on faster performance, improved power efficiency and more advanced on-device AI capabilities. OPPO has confirmed that its upcoming Find X10 Pro Max will be among the first smartphones to feature the new processor.
MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro Moves to 2nm
The biggest highlight of the Dimensity 9600 Pro is its move to a 2nm manufacturing process. The chipset is designed to deliver higher performance while improving efficiency during demanding smartphone workloads.
MediaTek has introduced a new all-big-core CPU architecture for the Dimensity 9600 Pro. The processor includes two Arm C2-Ultra cores clocked at up to 4.55GHz, alongside six performance cores.
According to MediaTek, the new chipset delivers up to 17% higher overall CPU performance and up to 61% better CPU multi-core energy efficiency compared with the previous generation.
The company has also upgraded the graphics side with its new G2-Ultra NX GPU. MediaTek claims around 27% higher performance during sustained heavy workloads, along with improvements to ray tracing and neural graphics.

Dual-NPU Architecture Brings More AI Power
Artificial intelligence is another major focus of the Dimensity 9600 Pro. MediaTek has equipped the chipset with a dual-NPU architecture, combining a high-performance NPU with a Super Efficient NPU.
The high-performance NPU is designed for demanding generative AI workloads. MediaTek says it delivers 51% faster LLM prefill performance, while the Super Efficient NPU is claimed to offer 40% better power efficiency.
For smartphone users, this could translate into faster AI-powered image processing, generative AI features, translation, voice functions and other on-device AI applications.
LPDDR6, UFS 5.0 and 200MP Camera Support
The Dimensity 9600 Pro is designed for premium smartphones and supports the latest memory and storage technologies, including LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 storage.
The chipset can also support displays with resolutions up to WQHD+ at 180Hz, making it suitable for high-end gaming and multimedia devices.
On the camera side, MediaTek lists support for smartphone camera systems of up to 200MP. The platform also brings improvements aimed at computational photography and AI-assisted imaging.
OPPO Find X10 Pro Max Will Feature the New Chip
OPPO has confirmed that the upcoming Find X10 Pro Max will be one of the first smartphones powered by the Dimensity 9600 Pro.
The handset is expected to be positioned as a premium flagship, with the new MediaTek processor serving as one of its key hardware highlights.
OPPO is also working with MediaTek on its Laminar Flow Engine, which will debut with the Find X10 Pro Max. The technology is designed to coordinate system scheduling and rendering to balance performance, responsiveness and power consumption.
