A “Black Vande Bharat” Takes Over X
Social media users are buzzing about a new “black-coloured” Vande Bharat Express after a slick video of the train went viral on X (formerly Twitter). The clip shows a glossy, all-black version of the semi-high-speed train gliding down the tracks — complete with big windows, a futuristic front, and an eye-catching design that instantly drew comparisons to the Rajdhani Express.
But before you get too excited, here’s the thing — that viral video isn’t real.
The Truth: It’s AI-Generated
Turns out, the “black Vande Bharat” doesn’t exist. Fact-checkers have confirmed that the viral video is AI-generated, not an official prototype or concept by Indian Railways.
A closer look at the footage gives it away — the front of the train oddly says “Vande Bharat 2003”, even though the very first Vande Bharat Express wasn’t launched until 2019. The side panels also feature blurry, unreadable text, which is a telltale sign of AI-rendered visuals.

What Indian Railways Actually Offers
As of now, Vande Bharat trains operate in two official colour schemes —
- The original white-and-blue design.
- The newer orange-and-grey (often called orange-black) variant introduced in early 2024.
Officials have clearly stated that there are no plans for a black-coloured version of the Vande Bharat at present.
Why These Fake Videos Go Viral
Experts say such AI-generated train visuals spread quickly because they look too good to be fake. The lighting, reflections, and smooth movements make them appear hyper-realistic, tricking even regular viewers.
But rail enthusiasts and fact-checkers warn against blindly believing every “leak” or “exclusive” clip shared online. “These are just fan-made renders,” one rail blogger explained, “but they go viral because people want to see futuristic designs.”

Indian Railways’ Real Focus
While the black version is a hoax, Indian Railways is genuinely working on expanding its Vande Bharat fleet with more routes and upgraded technology. The focus remains on speed, passenger comfort, and energy efficiency, not flashy colour changes.
So if you see another “Vande Bharat Ultra Edition” pop up online, take it with a pinch of salt — or better yet, run a quick fact check before sharing.
