Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 19 has always been the king of reality TV buzz, but this season, there’s a new contender in town. Ashneer Grover’s Rise & Fall is taking OTT platforms by storm, leaving Bigg Boss trailing in BARC ratings online. While Bigg Boss still dominates traditional TV, the digital world is clearly loving Ashneer’s high-stakes reality drama.
Rise & Fall Takes the OTT Crown
Even though Rise & Fall has only been streaming for a week, it’s already racking up impressive numbers. With 3.8 million viewers in its first week, it has outperformed Bigg Boss OTT 2, which debuted at 2.4 million. Ashneer himself shared the good news during the weekend power play round, highlighting the show’s growing sponsorship and revenue.
“It’s amazing how the audience has embraced the show. We became the number one show last week,” Ashneer said, crediting contestants like Pawan Singh for keeping viewers hooked.

The Showdown: OTT vs TV
While Rise & Fall is killing it online, Bigg Boss 19 still holds its ground on TV. Colors TV, airing Bigg Boss, continues to lead prime-time TRPs, even though Sony TV, broadcasting Rise & Fall, is struggling in the ratings battle.
The two shows often get compared because of their similar reality formats. But the audience experience is different: Rise & Fall focuses on the contestants’ grind 24/7, while Bigg Boss features Salman Khan as the superstar host who appears mostly on weekends.
Ashneer’s Friendly Dig at Salman
During the show’s promotions, Ashneer didn’t hold back. Speaking to News18, he joked about Bigg Boss’s format:
“Reality shows have to be about the contestants. Unfortunately, in India, we’ve had a very big show with a very big superstar. It’s become more about him than the contestants. Who’s putting in the hours? Bhai, aap to ek weekend mein aa rahe ho. The ones grinding 24/7 are the contestants.”
Fans took this in stride, seeing it as part of the ongoing OTT vs TV rivalry.
What Makes Rise & Fall Click
The show follows a “Rulers vs Workers” format, featuring contestants like Pawan Singh, Kiku Sharda, Arbaz Patel, Aditya Narayan, Dhanashree Verma, and Kubbra Sait, among others. Its strategic gameplay, dynamic challenges, and nonstop drama are keeping viewers glued to their screens.
Meanwhile, Bigg Boss 19 continues to entertain audiences on Colors TV and JioHotstar with contestants like Gaurav Khanna, Awez Darbar, Neelam Giri, Ashnoor Kaur, and Tanya Mittal.
