PTI official Statement
A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf official, Azhar Mashwani, confirmed on Thursday that the politician had been wounded in the leg but was not in danger. According to reports, the incident also left six other people hurt, including Faisal Javed Khan, another politician.
Soon Khan was transported to a hospital in Lahore after leading a protest march to Islamabad’s capital and calling for immediate elections.
It was not immediately obvious who the shooter was who was detained by police at the scene. The incident has not yet been assigned a perpetrator.
Medical Help Given
Khan was filmed by local media transferring from his truck to another vehicle with the assistance of his security detail while wearing a bandage on one of his legs.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the event in a statement and demanded that an investigation be launched straight once.
On October 28, Khan began his long march from Lahore, and on November 11, he is expected to reach Islamabad.
In April of this year, his administration was overthrown as a result of a legislative vote of no confidence. Khan has since organized demonstrations across the country to demand early elections.
Khan allegedly “misled people” in the shooting film, according to the gunman
One of the attendees at the gathering allegedly seized Khan’s suspected shooter from behind as he attempted to flee in a video that has been shown on TV stations.
The shooter, who appeared to be in his 20s or 30s, claimed he was acting alone and had carried out the attack to assassinate Khan.
The suspect is heard saying in the film, “He [Khan] was fooling the people, and I couldn’t handle it.”
The footage was captured by the police, according to the information minister.
According to Fawad Chaudhry, a spokesman for Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. “The entire PTI leadership would have been wiped out if the gunman had not been stopped by individuals there.”
