Kavita’s nephew, Ajay Sayal, informed the portal that she died of a heart attack on Thursday at 8.30 p.m. She died at Parvati Devi Hospital in Amritsar, where she was receiving treatment.

Actor Anang Desai told The Indian Express, “I found out this morning that Kavita is no gone. She died last night. It is quite sad. She was in our batch at the National School of Drama. We studied together at NSD for three years as part of our training. Kavita, I, Satish Kaushik, Anupam (Kher), and Govind Namdev were all in the same cohort.”

According to an India Today story, Kavita Chaudhary’s close friend Suchitra Verma stated that the star had been fighting cancer for years and was obviously in agony during their last encounter a year ago, while receiving chemotherapy. “I’m saddened that I lost her and never got to meet her. “I never expected her condition to deteriorate so quickly,” Suchitra added.

Actor Anang Desai told The Indian Express, “She had cancer a few years ago, and we met after that, but she wanted to keep it quiet, so we never discussed it. She was originally from Amritsar and died there. I chatted with her approximately fifteen days ago while she was in Mumbai; she was not doing so well. Kavita’s nephew notified me of her death this morning.

Suchitra offered a touching tribute to the late actor on Instagram, saying beside a photo of herself and Kavita Chaudhary, “My heart is sad as I share this news with you. Last night, we lost Kavita, a source of strength, inspiration, and elegance. For those who grew up in the 1970s and 1980s, she was the face of DD’s Udaan series and the classic ‘Surf’ commercial, but she was so much more to me. Fans on X and Instagram were also uploading vintage adverts starring the late actor.

Suchitra also commented on Instagram, “She was more than just a symbol of women’s empowerment; she lived and breathed it.” Her efforts motivated many women to follow their aspirations, particularly in the Indian Police Service. Her legacy of empowerment will go on for future generations.
