BREAKING: Tremors were felt in several regions of Punjab, Haryana, and J&K

On Sunday, tremors from an earthquake were felt in various parts of Punjab and Haryana, including Chandigarh.

The vibrations, which lasted a few seconds, happened at approximately 11.23 a.m., according to seismologists.

Tremors were also detected in J&K’s Srinagar and Poonch.

According to EMSC, an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred 70 kilometers southeast of Fayzabad, Afghanistan, at roughly 10.19 a.m.

A massive earthquake struck several districts in Pakistan, spreading panic and forcing people to flee their homes.

According to the National Seismic Monitoring in Islamabad, the focal point of the quake was the border region of Afghanistan and Tajikistan, and it originated at a depth of 223 km, which significantly limited its catastrophic impact.

The earthquakes were felt in Islamabad, Peshawar, Swat, Malakand, Haripur, Abbottabad, Batgram, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Texlia, Pind Dadan Khan, and other cities across the country.

So yet, no deaths or property damage have been reported, according to officials.

Earthquakes of various magnitudes are common in Pakistan. More than 74,000 individuals were killed in Pakistan’s biggest earthquake in 2005.
