Mahindra Drops Four New Concept SUVs — Vision X, Vision T, Vision S & Vision SXT — on Independence Day 2025

Mumbai, August 15, 2025 — Mahindra just turned India’s 79th Independence Day into a big automotive celebration. At its grand event in Mumbai today, the homegrown SUV giant took the wraps off four brand-new concept SUVs — the Vision X, Vision T, Vision S, and Vision SXT.

All four concepts share one thing in common — they’re built on the company’s brand-new NU.IQ platform, which will power future C-segment SUVs for both Indian and global markets. But in terms of design and personality, each one stands apart.

Vision T & Vision SXT – Modern Thar Vibes

If you loved the Thar.e concept, you’re going to feel right at home here. The Vision T comes with a full boxy body that screams off-road adventure, while the Vision SXT takes things in a slightly different direction — more of a rugged pickup-style truck with the spare wheel tucked into the rear deck.

Both models have an unmistakably robust design — big stance, bold lines, and a sense of “go-anywhere” freedom. Expect the production versions to be toned down just a bit for everyday practicality, but the core rugged character will likely stay.

Vision S – The Next Bolero?

This one might just be the future of the Bolero. The Vision S concept has a proper old-school, boxy SUV silhouette — think straight lines, tall stance — but refreshed with modern details.

Up front, you get Mahindra’s Twin Peaks logo, vertical LED lighting, and a new L-shaped headlamp setup that looks fresh and distinctive. The concept also sports off-road-friendly touches like roof-mounted lights, chunky bumpers, plastic cladding, and big, flared wheel arches.

It’s tough yet cleaner, with flush door handles, slim ORVMs, and uniquely designed alloy wheels. All signs point to this becoming the next-gen Bolero, with Mahindra clearly making it more premium while keeping the rugged DNA intact.

Vision X – Sharp, Sporty & Coupe-Like

If the Vision S is rugged, the Vision X is sleek and sporty. This design is all about sharp lines, slim headlights, and a coupe-style sloping roofline. The long hood and flush door handles give it a modern premium look, while the dual-tone rear bumper adds a bit of flair.

It’s less about raw off-road power and more about city style with a dash of adventure. If Mahindra plays its cards right, this could be its entry into the SUV-coupe market — which is hot right now.

What’s Next for These Concepts?

While these concepts look bold and futuristic, Mahindra has already hinted that production models will be a little more practical. Still, with the new NU.IQ platform, expect better performance, improved tech, and flexibility to cater to both domestic and international buyers.

For SUV lovers, this Independence Day was basically Christmas morning. From tough off-roaders to sleek urban SUVs, Mahindra looks ready to dominate multiple segments in the coming years.
