Vivo’s Big Software Refresh Is Here
Vivo just made it official — OriginOS 6, the company’s Android 16-based custom interface, is launching globally today, October 15. It’s a complete redesign that blends smooth visuals, smarter AI, and better performance — all while promising a faster, more intuitive experience.
The update, which goes live first in China, will begin rolling out to Vivo and iQOO devices in India later this week, starting with flagship models like the Vivo X200 and iQOO 13 series.
A Fresh, Smarter Design
This year, Vivo is leaning heavily into aesthetics and AI. The new translucent interface design feels cleaner and more fluid — kind of like Apple’s iOS 18 — with subtle blur effects and “light and shadow” layers that make icons and menus feel alive.
The lock screen gets a visual refresh, wallpapers now move with motion, and Vivo’s virtual assistant, Xiao V, is getting an AI glow-up. You can use it to organize notes automatically, perform smart searches, and even clean up photos by removing unwanted objects in Live Photos.

Performance Boosts You’ll Actually Notice
Vivo says OriginOS 6 offers:
- 15% better memory optimization for smoother gaming
- 11% faster app launches
- 18% longer video playback
That means less lag, more battery life, and overall, a snappier phone.
Under the hood, it’s still Android 16 — but Vivo has added its own twist, focusing on a more consistent, visually unified system experience that feels premium across devices.
Phones Getting the Update First
The rollout starts with Vivo’s X Series and iQOO’s flagship lineup, followed by mid-range and entry-level models.
First Wave:
- Vivo: X200, X100, X90, Fold 5, X Flip, 3 Pro Fold
- Mid-range: V60, V50, V40, V30
- iQOO: iQOO 13, 12, 12 Pro, Neo 11 series
- Y Series: Y400, Y300, Y200, and others
The rollout will be staggered, meaning some users may see the update before others, depending on region and model.

Why It Matters
With OriginOS 6, Vivo is aiming to bridge design and intelligence — offering a phone experience that feels personal, fluid, and future-ready. The company’s commitment to multi-year update support also means users can expect better longevity and security.
For Indian users, especially Vivo X and iQOO enthusiasts, this is more than just another skin — it’s the next step in Vivo’s push to make Android smarter and prettier without compromising speed.
