The missing tourist submersible participated in a catastrophic implosion, according to the US Coast Guard. The tragedy killed five persons on board, including Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son, Suleman Dawood. The submersible also carried Hamish Harding (CEO of Action Aviation in Dubai), the French adventurer Paul-Henri Nargolet, and OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush.
Shahzada Dawood and his son, Suleman, were among the five individuals killed when their submarine, which had gone out to visit the Titanic wreckage, lost contact thousands of feet below the surface. Shahzada Dawood, 48, was a UK-based board member of the Prince’s Trust organization and one of Pakistan’s richest individuals.
Dawood and his 19-year-old son boarded the tiny underwater craft to see the famous Titanic disaster, which is located 12,500 feet below sea level. Engro stated in a news statement, “On Sunday, June 18, Mr. Shahzada Dawood, Vice Chairman of Engro Corporation Limited, and his son, Suleman, set out to investigate the Titanic’s wreckage in the Atlantic Ocean.” Yet they lost signal 370 miles off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada, in the darkest parts of the Atlantic Ocean. Christina, Shahzada’s wife, and Alina, his daughter, had been waiting for news of the couple.

Titanic Tour Submarine
Before implosion, the submersible last pinged when it was right above its target. Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son, Suleman Dawood, are among the five individuals on board. When the submersible exploded, Hamish Harding (CEO of Action Aviation in Dubai), French adventurer Paul-Henri Nargolet, and OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush were on board.
The OceanGate Expeditions-owned and operated submarine set off at 4 a.m. on Sunday. It was transporting a five-person crew 12,500 feet underwater. However, an hour and 45 minutes into the two-hour descent, the team lost contact with the mothership, the MV Polar Prince.
