Mumbai-Thane Water Cut: Supply to Drop 10% from Oct 7– 9
Residents of Thane and South Mumbai will have to brace for three days of reduced water supply this week. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) have announced a 10% water cut starting Monday, October 7, which will continue till Thursday, October 9, 2025.
The reason? Routine maintenance and upgradation of 100 kW electricity meters at the Pise and Panjrapur water purification plants, which supply a major chunk of potable water to Thane and Mumbai.

TMC officials added that contingency measures are being taken to ensure essential services like hospitals and fire stations don’t face disruption.
